DORCUS Food Ministry Partnership

The DORCAS Ministry is a food ministry housed in the First Baptist Church of Warm Springs. The ministry serves those who live in Meriwether County or nearby counties and who are in need of a supply of temporary food. The Church is open on Wednesday mornings from 10:30 - 12:30 pm. Other community information such as job opportunities is shared as well.

The DORCAS ministry was named for the seamstress Dorcas, or Tabitha, whose story can be found in Acts 9:36-43. She was known for her generosity to the disadvantaged in her community. Today, Dorcas serves as the inspiration for our ongoing efforts to provide for those in our community who are facing immediate crises for emergency food.

Every meeting the Rotary Club has two fun events to include purchasing a ticket for one dollar for a chance to draw a card in order to win $200. The money collected from the ticket sales is donated to the DORCAS Ministry fund for the food bank.

The food bank touches over 179 families = 460 people
