Wear Read Luncheon - Celebrating Heart Health

Over 30 individuals united in a powerful show of support against heart disease by proudly wearing red on National Wear Red Day. They gathered to hear from Staci Bagley, the inspiring Chronic Disease Prevention Program Manager at the District 4 Georgia Department of Public Health, who delivered a motivational message at the Rotary Club of Meriwether County and Manchester Woman's Club  Wear Red Luncheon on Friday, February 7th.

February is American Heart Month, a reminder to prioritize heart health as a vital part of self-care. When we nurture ourselves, we inspire those around us. Committing time for self-care is essential for a healthy heart.

This year marks the 16th anniversary of the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women movement, which empowers women to recognize that cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death worldwide. Remarkable progress has been made in raising awareness; since the launch of Go Red for Women in 2004, there has been nearly a 90 percent increase in women's awareness of heart disease as their primary health threat.
