Dropping Coins to help fight against Alzheimer's

Meriwether County Rotary Club members are making a meaningful impact in the fight against Alzheimer's disease by contributing their pocket change to the CART Fund buckets during their weekly meetings.

The CART Fund was created to facilitate a fundraising initiative without interfering with other Rotary Club projects. When attending these meetings, Rotarians are encouraged to voluntarily empty their pockets of change or donate any amount they choose. This simple and painless method provides a significant way to raise essential funds for Alzheimer's research.

To illustrate the impact of these donations, consider that there are approximately 35,100 Rotarians across the 11 Rotary districts in The Carolinas and Georgia. With an assumed attendance rate of 85%, 48 meetings a year, and an average contribution of just 35 cents per meeting, the total funds raised could exceed $500,000 annually for research. Extending this formula to Rotarians in the USA and Canada combined could generate over $5.5 million annually for Alzheimer's research.
