December marks the enchanting arrival of the Christmas season in Warm Springs, a time filled with cheer and celebration. However, not everyone has the opportunity to partake in the lively holiday festivities or enjoy the warmth of family gatherings, especially those residing in nursing homes or assisted living facilities. Nonetheless, this circumstance does not mean they are overlooked or forgotten during this special time of year.
With heartfelt intentions, the Meriwether County Rotary Club initiated the Santa for Seniors program to deliver thoughtful gifts to our beloved seniors in Warm Springs nursing home and the assisted living facility on the mountain this Christmas.
On Tuesday, December 10, community spirit was alive and thriving as the Rotary Club, the Manchester Kiwanis Club, and the Manchester Woman's Club united. Together, they generously adopted 91 residents from the Warm Springs Nursing Home and the Morningside of Warm Springs Assisted Living Center.
The three clubs put in countless hours to create meaningful gift bags. These bags were filled with a range of carefully selected items, including soft throw blankets for warmth, gentle lotions, and body wash for pampering, practical items like combs and tissues, and engaging activities such as a book of crossword puzzles, along with pens and pencils to spark creativity. Each item was chosen for the seniors' comfort and enjoyment, to spread joy and remind them that they are cherished and remembered during the festive season.
