On March 10th, a team of St Mary's College students traveled to Meriwether County for the annual college challenge builds for Habitat for Humanity.
The Rotary Club of Meriwether Co. provided dinner with 14 homemade pizzas, fresh garden salads, brownies with whipped cream, and homemade poundcake with strawberries.
The St Mary’s College students spend their spring break working on a habitat house in Meriwether County every year. Usually, they start with the foundation already laid and have the home dried by week’s end.
Meriwether County Habitat for Humanity is a locally run affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing organization. Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with people in need to build and renovate decent, affordable housing. The houses are sold to families in need at no profit and with no interest charged.
