On March 9th, St. Mary's College students embarked on a meaningful journey to Meriwether County, where they participated in the annual college challenge builds for Habitat for Humanity. Thanks to the generous support of the Rotary Club of Meriwether County, dinner featured 14 homemade pizzas, fresh garden salads, delightful brownies topped with whipped cream, and homemade pound cake with strawberries.
These dedicated students commit themselves to building a Habitat house in Meriwether County every spring break. They begin their work with the foundation already laid, united in their goal to ensure the house is weather-tight by the end of the week.
Meriwether County Habitat for Humanity is a local affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing organization. They empower needy individuals by constructing and renovating decent, affordable housing. The houses are sold to families in need at no profit, with no interest charged, fostering hope and a brighter future for all.
