This Week's Speaker
Dunwoody President Elect Matthew Johnson

Join us this Friday at the Embassy Suites as our president elect, Matthew Johnson, shares his vision of the 2025-26 Rotary Year for the Rotary Club of Dunwoody.

For those of you who missed Dave Burr's "Getting to Know You" profile of Matthew last August, here's a little information about our incoming President.

Matthew started his career as a music teacher, and 15 years decided to start law school. He continued teaching full time and spent the next four years attending Georgia State University College of Law part time. He has practiced law since 2015, focusing on domestic relations and family law. Shortly after becoming an attorney, Matthew realized he had more flexibility in his schedule and wanted to connect more with his local community. He reached out to his neighborhood's Facebook group and asked if anyone was familiar with a local Rotary club. He joined our club in September 2020 during the middle of COVID.

Matthew's favorite club activity has been preparing the books for Dresden. He wants our club to perform more projects like preparing books for Dresden or backpacks for Tapestri, enjoyable activities where members get together, form connections, and complete the entire project.

Matthew, his wife, Jill, and their daughters, Loren and Abigail, live in Dunwoody. The photo shows the family on vacation in Maine last summer.

Anchor Place
We are Still Collecting Plastic Bottle Caps!

We're still collecting plastic bottle caps for a mid-summer art project at Anchor Place. We know we will need LOTS - save all sizes and colors of plastic bottle caps (ask your friends to help) and bring them with you to Rotary! We especially need BLUE caps to make an Anchor - milk offers a good source of blue!

You can bring any bottle caps you have already collected to the meeting this Friday - or bring them on a future Friday. Any of our Anchor Place volunteers - Jackie Cuthbert, Fred Bounds, Tina Philpott, Louise or Ron Barden - would be happy to take them off your hands!
