December is officially the Christmas season in Warm Springs. Unfortunately, not everyone can attend in-person holiday festivities or spend time with their extended family because they reside in a nursing home or an assisted living facility. However, this situation does not mean that they are forgotten.
The Meriwether County Rotary Club began the Santa for Seniors program with the simple desire to provide our Seniors who live in a nursing home or assisted living facility in Meriwether County gifts for Christmas.
On Tuesday, December 6, the Rotary Club teamed up with the Interact Club, Kiwanis Club, and the Manchester Woman's Club and adopted 90 residents from Warm Springs Nursing Home and Morningside of Warm Springs Assisted Living Center. The three clubs created gift bags of basic needs items like combs, throw blankets, tissues, lotion, body wash, a book of crossword puzzles, pens, and pencils for each resident.
