Saving Lives Through Prevention and Responsibility

The PARC Program

Prevention and Responsible Choices (PARC) is a prevention initiative designed to reduce risky behaviors among adolescents ages 15 to 19. The program provides education and hands-on experiences that highlight the real-life consequences of unsafe choices, intending to create lasting change in knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors.

Who Participates?

PARC participants are vehicle violation offenders referred through the traffic court system in Meriwether County and surrounding Middle Georgia counties. Referrals are made directly by Probate and Juvenile Judges as part of the sentencing process.

Program Format

  • One-session program with a limited number of participants to ensure personal engagement.

  • Court-ordered participation, with judges assigning attendance as part of sentencing.

  • Interactive activities that raise awareness of the potential outcomes of risky decisions.

  • Encouragement of responsibility through reflection and real-world learning.

Enrollment

  • Probate or Juvenile Judges make referrals.

  • Participants receive details about the location, fee, and time once scheduled
